ENVIRONMENTAL RELATES TO THE NATURAL WORLD, ESPECIALLY TO ITS CONSERVATION. ALSO RELATING TO, OR CAUSED BY A PERSON'S OR ANIMAL'S SURROUNDINGS.

WE ALL LIVE ON THIS EARTH--WE ALL HAVE CHOICES TO MAKE OR IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENT AROUND US. WE ALSO HAVE THE CHOICE TO MAKE THE ENVIRONMENT WORSE BY FURTHER CONTAMINATING IT. SIMPLE THINGS CAN BE DONE BY ALL TO HELP IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENT.

WE JUST DID WHAT WE WANTED TO--AND NOT MUCH WAS SAID IF ANYTHING. WE WERE WASTEFUL, WE LEFT LIGHTS ON, WE RAN WATER AS LONG AS WE WANTED, WE MADE SOME BAD CHOICES--BUT NO ONE CARED MUCH--NO ONE SAID ANYTHING TO US. BUT...

TODAY IT IS VERY DIFFERENT. WE ARE VERY MUCH AWARE OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND WHAT IMPACT NOT ONLY WE MAKE--BUT THE IMPACT OF THOSE AROUND US. THERE IS TALK ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE IMPACTS THAT WE MAKE, COMPANIES MAKE, VEHICLES MAKE AND SO ON.

WE CARE--AT LEAST I DO--DO YOU? IF NOT YOU SHOULD--BECAUSE WE LIVE HERE, OUR FAMILIES LIVE HERE, OUR LEGACIES WILL LIVE HERE--AND WHAT ARE WE LEAVING FOR THEM? HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT THE SUN BEING FUN? WELL IT IS IN A WAY. IF YOU LOOK AT IT DIFFERENTLY THAN THE USUAL--SUCH AS SITTING IN THE SUN AND GETTING A SUN TAN OR KEEPING YOU WARM ETC. THINK ABOUT IT DIFFERENTLY. THINK ABOUT IT IN A SENSE OF SOLAR POWER.

WHY IS SOLAR POWER FUN? FOR ONE IT IS FREE POWER. WHAT--FREE? YES FREE ELECTRIC POWER FROM THE SUN. NOW THAT MAKES IT FUN. THINK OF THE MONEY YOU WILL SAVE USING SOLAR POWER. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU--BUT SAVING MONEY IS FUN TO ME. FUN SUN MONEY.

SO THAT MAKES US RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESOURCES THAT THE EARTH DOES HAVE. WE NEED TO NOT USE THEM ALL UP. WE NEED TO USE THEM WITH CARE AND CAUTION. WE HAVE TO THINK OF FUTURE GENERATIONS--OUR KIDOS AND THEIR KIDOS AND ALL THE ONES AFTER THAT. WE NOT ONLY NEED TO THINK OF THEM--BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY--WE NEED TO TRAIN THEM TO USE THE EARTH'S RESOURCES WITH CAUTION. SO PART OF OUR JOB NOW--IS TO TRAIN OURSELVES TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE EARTH'S RESOURCES EFFICIENTLY--SO WE CAN LEARN ALL THE DO'S AND DON'T--SO WE CAN TRAIN THE FUTURE GENERATIONS. 

ANOTHER ASPECT IS TO LEARN ABOUT FREE AND RENEWABLE EARTH RESOURCES. THERE ARE SEVERAL EXCELLENT SOURCES THAT ARE AVAILABLE NOW--WITH LITTLE OR NO WORK INVOLVED. WE CAN USE THEM UP. THAT MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS--WE CAN USE THEM UP--BUT WE DON'T WANT TO--SO WE NEED TO FIND AND DEVELOP ALTERNATIVE, RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES.

WE WANT TO LEARN TO USE RENEWABLE RESOURCES--SO WE CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT USING THEM. WE WANT TO KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT HARMING THE EARTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT, AND NOT USING UP THE NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES AS WELL FROM FUTURE GENERATIONS.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RENEWABLE RESOURCES. ONE IS THE SUN OR SOLAR--ENERGY FROM THE SUN--WHICH CONVERTS SUNLIGHT TO ELECTRICITY. ANOTHER IS WIND--WHICH IS AIR IN MOTION. ANOTHER IS ENERGY FROM WATER POWER--SUCH AS DAMS, WAVES, RAIN--HYDROPOWER THAT PRODUCES OR GENERATES ELECTRICITY. ANOTHER SOURCE INVOLVES CREATING FUEL FROM RENEWABLE RESOURCES--SUCH AS FUEL FROM CORN AND OTHER CROPS, VEGETABLE OIL AND ANIMAL FATS--LIKE ETHANOL AND BIO-DIESEL. ANOTHER WOULD BE BIOMASS--WHICH INVOLVES THE USE OF PLANTS AND ANIMAL MATTER, WOOD, CROPS, GARBAGE, LANDFILL GASES AND ALCOHOL FUELS. ALSO DON'T FORGET GEOTHERMAL HEAT--WHICH IS ENERGY FROM THE EARTH WHICH IS NATURALLY REPLINISHED.

Beautiful Solar

What does Beautiful Solar mean? Well it could mean many things to many people. Everyone has a different idea what beautiful means. Let's look at some of those meanings.

First what does it mean to me. Beautiful means something that is very pleasing or impressive to listen to, or to touch and especially something that is pleasing or pleasant to look at. It is very good and enjoyable. It could be any number of things such as a beautiful sunset, or beach, or sky, or a person, familes or anything that is pleasant or pleasing. Something that makes you smile or have a good feeling about yourself, someone else or something.

Well we have discussed what solar is in earlier articles--so what is beautiful solar? This also could mean different things to different people. But usually something that is solar and beautiful is very similar to most people. It could be a sunrise, or a sunset, or the glow of the sun, or the bright sun during the day, or the moon at night--yes the moon does have something to do with the sun--or whatever strikes your fancy. I think most people agree that these types of things are beautiful. It is beautiful to look at these types of things. The pleasantness makes you feel good. It's pleasing especially to look at. 

There are also other aspects of solar that is beautiful too. Those would include solar used to power a house, a car, lights, radios and many other things that solar can be used for. I think that using solar in this fashion is beautiful. It makes me feel good that someone is using solar to power things and not using up the limited Earth resources such as gas, oil and the many other things from the Earth. It is also pleasing to smell--yes smell. Solar makes no pollution. So using solar is pleasing by using a renewable resource and is pleasing just in itsself--it is pleasant to look at--especially when it comes in many different colors. That makes it pleasing to look at.

Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm. What is that? Well hopefully you have had enthusiasm in you life many times. It is a great thing. It is when you are passionate about something. When you have a passionate interest in or eagerness to do something. Hopefully you are interested in becoming enthusiastic about becoming green, going solar or helping the environment. This is really important.

You become enthusiastic when something arouses your interest. If you are hungry and you smell something good being cooked--you usually become very enthusiastic about eating whatever they are cooking. I know I do. Another example would be if you are out shopping and feel the urge to use the restroom--you become very enthusiastic about finding a restroom. I know I do. 

The above are very common things that you know you get enthusiastic about. But what about environmental things? Do you become enthusiastic about them? It might take a little more work at first but after a while you tend to get very passionate about environmental subjects. You start to feel the importance of becoming environmentally conscious. You start to feel that you want to do the right things environmentally.

There are many reasons you might want to become enthusiastic environmentally. For one it is the right thing to do. You might feel the need to help for various reasons. It is good for the environment. It will help your children and their children in the future. It will make you a better person. It will make you feel better about yourself and the world you live in. It helps with many things.

There are many reasons. But you need to feel the importance of being enthusiastic about the things that you do environmentally. If you have to or need to do things--why not do them with an enthusiastic/passionate/want to do it for the right reasons attitude? You can become an enthusiast. Wow a new title--and an important one at that.

So learn to not only do environmentally appropriate things in your life--but become enthusiastic about doing those things. It is important to do not only for you and your family--but it is important to the world that we live in.

Solar Year

This can be your solar year. Yes it can if you want it to be. How can you make it a solar year for you? Read and find out.

First--what is a solar year? Well a real solar year is the time taken for the Earth to move around the Sun. That time is equal to 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 45.31 seconds. Wow. It's much easier to just remember 365 days without all the extra hours, minutes and seconds. So 365 days equal one year--and that's called a solar year. Although it is really called a solar year we just tend to call it a year. It would be to weird to ask people--how many solar years are you? We just ask--how many years old are you?

So how can you make this a solar year for you? Well you can start by thinking solar. Start thinking about solar energy and solar power. You don't have to be a genius or rich to become more solar and start using solar power. You don't even need to be building a new house to become solar conscious. All solar power means is to use power from the sun in place of other power sources. Such as using a solar flashlight. That doesn't seem like much--but you are using solar energy and not going through batteries. A solar flashlight uses energy from the sun to charge a long lasting battery in the flashlight--on a daily basis--to provide solar power for the flashlight. 

Flashlights are not the only thing that you can do. There are many other things that are solar also. Things that are not all that expensive for the average person. What about your outside lights on your home? Well they could be solar also. Just think of the energy that you could save using lighting that gets it's energy from the sun. Lights that would come on automatically at dusk and go off automatically at dawn. How many times have you driven by homes in your neighborhood during the day and noticed that their outside lights are on all day long? How much energy does that burn? Probably a lot if you consider how many are left on daily. That's a lot of electricity and energy.  

To make this a solar year for you--consider putting up solar lights on the outside of your home. You would not only save electricity, money, energy--but think how it helps out the environment and the Earth. This could be your solar year to become more solar and energy efficient.

Envionmental Smart

Environmental smart. Now that's smart. What are we talking about here? Are we talking about being smart?

Yes--we are. I know that all of you reading this are smart--but are you environmental smart? That means that you are not only smart--but that you are aware of what's going on in the environment also. Not only that you are aware of what's going on in the environment--but that you also do your part to help the environment on a daily basis. Do I recycle? Do I use environmentally friendly things in my life? Do I use solar power? Do I use wind power? Do I do my part to work towards protecting the natural world to the to the best of my abilities? Do I encourage others to be environmentally friendly or smart? Question yourself and see what answers you come up with for yourself.

If you don't do any of the above things--maybe you're environmental smart--but you just don't do anything on a daily basis to be friendly to the environment around you. So now is the time to start that process. It's time to start being not only smart--but environmental smart. You can do it. I did. Also so have many others in the world. That's how environmental improvements happen. People take it upon themselves or encourage others to join them in becoming environmentally friendly.

You don't have to become an environmentalist or be totally actively involved to the extreme. All you have to do is start doing something that is environmentally smart or friendly on a daily basis. Such as start recycling or start by using solar products that are not only friendly to the Earth but help you also. By saving you money on a daily basis. Or more importantly helping the Earth by being aware of environmental things and encouraging others to get involved. Recycle

Recycle? Who me? What are you talking about? I shouldn't have to do that. There's already a lot of people doing it. There's plenty of people doing it. Why should I have to do it too?

Actually there's not enough people doing it. Actually everyone should be doing it--or at least some aspect of it. Why? Well mainly it would be environmentally responsible for everyone to do it. And it would help save energy. And it would help save money--yes your money. And mainly it would help the Earth. And the future generations in a lot of ways.

So why not? Why not do your part. I know that realistically it would be really difficult to get everyone to recycle or do their part--but you can do your part. And then some for the ones who don't do their part in recycling.

Down this same line--you could do a number of other things that would help in the same way. Not only recycling--but just saving energy in general--such as using solar, wind power and other simple things that would save energy, money, the environment--the future. Any of it would be good. Good for you. Good for the Earth. Good for us all.

So why not get invoved in one way or the other. Think of the importance of it all. Do your part. Do your part and then some.

Is it healthy to save energy? The answer has to do with--who or what is saving energy healthy for. The answer is--yes. It is healhy for the Earth.
